Social Features not working at all for me.

A buddy of mine just picked up PA and in order to play together we had to make a public game with a password.

When we search for friends he can find me, but I can't find him.
He can send me friend requests, but the notification is completely blank. No text, no button to click on to accept.

After we played a game, he was not in my Recent players list, but I was in his.

How the hell do I fix this?

Update:
Another friend just got the game and I can find and add him to my friend list no problem.
But I still can't do anything to friend the first person, and they still don't show up in the recent player list.

I'm having the exact same issue with a friend of mine.

Out of curiosity, when you play the game, do you use the Launcher, Steam, or start the pa.exe?

I'm using the steam version, if you were asking me.
