I really like the magic system. You cast spells by creating shapes with the snake. https://placatethecattin.itch.io/snakelike I'm terrible at it because I get careless. My best score so far is 1044.
You have to find the spells on the ground. They'll be little glyphs where you have to fill each square then end the head at the spot that shows which spell you unlock. Different contortions can be assigned to the same spell in different runs. I've seen Poison Cloud(releases poison AoE at tail end), Antidote, Armor Up(each segment gets blue armor), and Reverse Direction.
