Their name isn't exactly appealing. It's like if planetary annihilation was called PLANETARY SMASH. I wonder what it will develop into none the less.
I watched a bit of pre-alpha gameplay they had on at PAX (the queue to actually play it was like 2 hours... how bout no) - it did look genuinely interesting. I have some very strong concerns that they'll struggle to maintain the differentiation they've built into their different factions as they try to balance it, though. The entire way that each race even builds buildings and units is completely different - some are dependent on adjacency, some can just plonk things down at will, etc. It's one I'll be keeping a distant eye on, but I don't think it's got enough genuine USPs at the moment to really sell it - they're relying almost entirely on "cool-factor" at the moment, which just isn't enough.
Well for a skirmishing player, who prefers playing against the AI, the balance of the teams doesn't really bother me all that much. Playing CNC in the old days, im accustomed to imbalances and the like, but as long as they make sense in the lore I feel like it's all good gravy. Id love to have a game where one side is balanced to be obviously be stronger in overall MP gameplay, so that people know MP is all about faction X, where the factions YZWQ and whatever are for less serious play. That could be really fun for both sides of the player base.

I got to play Greygoo today at PAX. It's a pretty fun RTT, but still seems very small in scale. Totally wrecked my opponent as the Greygoo.
I plan to keep alert on this, probably throw some money at aquisition sometime. It is an honorable game after all, I like where it came from and that usually is all it takes. At the same time, I am not following it thoroughly. With PA it is time consuming, but at least with this it will be a pleasant suprise?
