[WIP][Server] Imperial Legion (Faction)

    I'm liking the MLA (Machine Liberation Army), especially since it fits with the lore I was thinking of for the IL (Imperial legion).

    Spoiler:
    It involves the IL seeing the vanilla faction as having played a part in humanities extermination and proceeding to go on a revenge crusade against them. Extermination of those who dared stand against the great Progenitors.

    To the IL all the old commanders are MLA to them since they are all seen as traitors.

    Well that's roughly my idea for the lore. I haven't actually run it past anyone else yet :)

    The progenitors in the lore are the humans.

    Love the ddm, although I think you should have showed the BA version for maximum epicness :)

    Either way, a DDM in PA? Oh yes!

    So are you going to have more defenses than in vanilla, or is this a replacement for the triple barrel for IL? Seems like IL will have an advantage in defense variety. How will you solve this?

    Same amount of defences will be present, this is basically their replacement. The t2 legion defence will be quite a bit more expensive than vanilla and will also have energy drain. (Whether this is per shot for the more powerful guns or steady is yet to be decided). The ddm will have 3 diff weapons. One about the same range (or slightly longer range) as vanilla but quite weak. One midrange with average damage and one that has vanguard like range and really powerful. As you get to the shorter more powerful guns the turn rate also slows down a lot (or the turn rate for everything on the turret could be fairly slow). So as an enemy unit gets closer they become subject to the more powerful guns. Whereas a vanilla t2 turret is competent at all ranges so it dishes out steady DMG compared to the IL t2.

    Every IL turret will function quite differently unlike the vanilla ones which just get more fire rate and power as you progress. Yes the higher tiers will be more powerful but how they function will also vary as you go up the turret tiers. Due to this each IL turret will be priced differently.

    Ok the models almost done actually and i'm pretty pleased with it.
    Specs wise lets just say that it's powered by 4 mini reactors.

    EDIT2:
    That's a total of three models finished in one day. I'm on a role today.

    Ages ago I considered that and even gave it a quick shot (Turned out surprisingly well). But it is not likely that a feature such as that one will make it into the mod. If it were to ever happen it'd likely be released at a later date and possibly separately. Although it still isn't highly likely to happen.

    I am not entirely sure myself. I've heard from some that it is possible and others that it is not.

    So yeah not sure whats up with that.

    Voice acting is locked in the FMOD audio files so it's not possible to add new voice acting.

    Aww there goes my dream of the 'get sconed!' Notification when someone activates their halleys :p

    Also 'planetary sconing now possible' for the attacking player :p

    Well it will be possible if the original FMOD .fdp file is included in the files OR a modding pack with the .fdp is released (along with the original .fbx models so animations can be reused easily) to create much better mods in shorter amounts of time.

    That's all i'm hoping for really. I don't see why it's such a hard task, but then again I don't know what goes on in the office :)

    Oooooorrrrr, just replace the whole fsb file. You just need to replace the sound data in the right location if you want to replace particular sound effects. It just means you can't add anything.

    Random idea that came to me:

    Your sniper vehicle currently looks very much like the vanilla sheller. Maybe you could differentiate by removing the gun barrel outright and instead elongating the two primary colored objects to the side of it, turning it into some sort of railgun type thingamajig?
