    We'll see if that debate will have any influence, like at all.

    My guess is that asteroids will be just a new biome for miniature planets, with all the associated problems such as tiny orbit shells (and therefore omnipotent Umbrellas), no actual asteroid-to-asteroid-hopping, and most definitely no asteroid belts or anything else which could possibly make asteroids an interesting map type. In best case, we may see non-uniform respectively surface-normal gravity vectors so units don't look all to strange when moving "uphill" in micro gravity, but that's it.

    Would love to be proven wrong, but I don't have high hopes yet.

    Absurd is the AI where it has no constraints at all. And Sorian is constantly working on making it better. So, yeah, absurd gets harder with ever update. :)

    Oh, I think I know what you are talking about now. This is while having additional devmode options enabled in addition to sandbox mode enabled in the game lobby.
    Yes, currently the way it's set up, the Idle difficulty will have no economy. Even if you try to build while in control of the enemy commander, it's not going to work.

    Can you get that fixed in the way I described?

    Currently it's hard to test the game when the AI keeps overriding the commands you've given its units.

    Why don't you just start two instances of PA and play both sides on a local server? No login required, so you can join from both instances as long as you change the Uber ID field.

    Asteroids refers to a group of small, metal barren bodies which respawn gradually after use, making planet smashing into a more commonplace thing and stalemates into a virtual impossibility.

    There are workarounds like this, but it's a nuisance and the Idle AI can just be fixed instead.

    Well, from a developers standpoint of limited resources there is either unit cannon indicators or asteroids.

    So over the next few months you're working on things you've broken, and implementing asteroids. Marvellous.

    I think I'll sit the rest of the year out and come back when you've spent some time improving the gameplay.

    Didn't the last stable patch have a buttload of balance / gameplay tweaks?

    Or are you just having a day without sunshine?

    Maybe. It's a very specific use case for you though. I mean, the idle AI is meant for new players to just mess around. Extending it to your use case may take some dev time, which may not be justified for just one or two persons that need to copy-paste enemy eco. Especially with a workaround present.

    Sorry if this comes across as a bit harsh. What I'm trying to say is that dev time is very scarce and this particular feature may not have a high priority.

    Let's see.... we're working on the CSG for Linux issue, missing cursor, playing videos from the main menu, the UI freeze when mousing over the build menu, black screen issues, and the Linux launcher.
