My clan members and I are at the point in our development as PA players where we are considering trying out some of the modding community's wonderful efforts. Our desire to do so, however, is greatly diminished by the lack of professionalism evident in the modders' works. Take the League of Commanders mod, for example. There is no way in hell we are even going to try it if the commanders continue to be named out of nonsensical internet nicknames. Who thought it would be a good idea to name a commander "Quitch" for christsake? All the names sound **tarded in the context of the game's setting. That's why Uber named the commanders "Invictus", etc. instead of naming them after their spouses and children, and that's what differentiates the proper dev to the amateur: professionalism and placing the work's artistic integrity over all other concerns, including in-joking and petty egoism.

Or take another mod I saw recently, where the modder has renamed all the units lol. Good luck with getting anyone to try your mod dude.

Hate me all you want, as you always have done, but if you want your mod to be taken seriously and played by actual people, try taking it a bit more seriously yourself first. Until then my clan members and I will stick with vanilla.

Best regards to everyone at Uber and to all the passionate players here. icycalm out.

Well it's a two way street you know, your message "To the Mod Community" is quite lacking when it comes to professionalism from our perspective.

I am the greatest videogame and art critic and theorist currently living. My messages are coming down from Mount Olympus itself. Plus I run the only videogame clan that doesn't cheat. True stories.

I would suggest showing a little 'professionalism' yourself if you want to expect any.

elodea, I don't expect anything. All I am saying is "be more professional if you want your mods to be played more". Take it or leave it (just like I left your mods).

Professionalism doesn't mean falling in line with your personal opinion.

Well, apparently, most everyone else doesn't have such a high bar for professional unit naming standards. I certainly don't care how units/commanders are named, if the mod plays well, I'll play it.

Only by giving people more economy, or setting up a server mod, etc... But everyone would know if that happened.

No. The other plays can't cheat because they aren't running the sim on their machines. The host can cheat because the sim is running on his machine. That's why wargaming claims world of tanks is 'hack proof', the server just doesn't give all the information in the sim to the client.
