Yes shaveice is useful. It's got **** tons of health, slows juiced pros both by occupying them and just plain slowing them, and when hacked near the front can actually effect the middling parts of most maps. A 3.3 overhealed shaveice turret can single handedly make juice rushing completely impractical until it's destroyed, and it's so damn hardy destroying it is a multi-pro job if you keep your eye on it.

If there is an entrance I ussualy lay down a shaveice and a firebase especially if its one of those maps that could have a rocket turret aiming at any slowerd enemies.

That and it makes Assasins visible.

meh gues its nice if it gets a huge range with hack3.

i must say though that i saw a juiced assassin attack a lvl 3, hack 3 rockit turret that i also overhealed. and the rockit won by far without my aid.

so im still not certain but i will test it out.

Well certainly you don't make every turret a shave-ice. I'm in the habit of making at least one, though. Usually towards the front, as it's more useful that way and helps us push forward if we're in a pinch. Everything else is rock-its and occasionally long shots, if I get the chance.

Have to be careful with your shaved ice turrets though, especially the ones in the front. Smart supports will take an escort(s) (assault are insanely good at protecting a hacking support or another support to heal) and hack your shaved ice turret if you are not paying attention. This can be devastating as not only does it end up costing you the turret (you'll have to kill it) but it gives the enemy team a HUGE advantage in your own base.

Edit : Oh on the topic of the actual hurt gun, it is also extremely useful for delaying health regen on pros. Since the weapon has no aim it will hit 100% of the time when you come into range. So if you just tap them for a split second their health regen will be reset which keeps them back for even longer.

I keep an eye on them, but to be honest I've never had a turret get hacked by an enemy support. Most people don't even know of the ability. I've only ever done it once(thanks to my teammates attacking turrets I'm currently hacking, else it would be three times).

I keep forgetting about hacking hostile turrets, but on the rare occasions i've done it, it's been a huge help.
Run in, hack a turret, throw down your own firebase and hand out bombs, and you can be sooooo annoying to the enemy :D

Hacking an enemy shave is my favorite thing to do in this game. I salivate when I see them built and left unattended. They don't attack back and they wreak havoc. Shaves ftw, enemy Shaves FTW!!!

Oh yeah if I ever manage to get a level 3 shaved ice hacked its a huge swing if people are pushing with me. If you get an enemy shaved ice on steel peel its pretty much GG. Nothing wrong with building shaved ice turrets, but you gotta keep an eye on them :D

I actually had two supports attempt this against me two different times last night. I was playing sniper. I headshot the first, and grappled the second out of the map. They didn't try again.

Well if you go into an enemy base by yourself as a support and try to hack a turret, you deserve to die.

If you don't headshot every support that attempts that and doesn't at least try to use air strikes then I would be disappointed.

Here's a question for you Supporter folks.

If an enemy Support hacks your own turret, can you hack it back? :geek:

i would say yes, unless the turret doesn't see itself completely as a enemy turret
but then it would be a flaw from uber t.m.o

Only if you have hack 3. It's pretty much seen as an enemy turret but it still gives the builder kills, even though it's killing teammates.:ugeek:

Additional note, if you have to hack back a turret that's on one of your nubs, it will only take 2-3 seconds. The hack back time is much shorter than the time required to hack it for the other team.

was playing steel peel just now, on a team with 3 supports. It was starting to look like a stalemate, where we couldn't really push into the enemy base. One of our supports then managed to hack the enemy's isolated turret while it was upgrading to Lv3 rockit! Then all 3 of us surrounded it with 3.3 firebases, and hilarity ensued

Going to bump this since I've recently started playing again and I'd rather not see it ignored considering the new player influx with the Steam summer sale. Additional trick section added, a few minor wording changes, and that's about it. Information is still mostly accurate and, most importantly, useful.

Ha great. Hacking while a turret is upgrading is always so satisfying.
