Perhaps it would be nice there would be a t2 air transport wich is slightly but not moch more expansive as the t1 transporter. But this one would be able to transport units to other planets, and what really would be cool is when they arrive at the target planet they would come like a drop pod simular from the unit cannon.

    Toughts?

if you speak about single unittransports then you have the austreus already which kinda is t1.5

I think he means a more heavily armed t2..would be nice the t1 is hardly ever used plus teleporter makes any transport pointless

i don´t see how a armed single unittransports should improve transport use ... best bet still would be armored multiunittrasnports imo .. singleunittransports are always worth though for tactical drops ... however orbital visability kinda messes with that .. .. building teleporters isn´t easy on a decent controled planet because it takes time to get it up on the enemy front ..

I didn't mean that..I meant to make a multi unit t2 transport that is heavily armored and a t1 that can carry multiple units but weak with a ferry system. This would add another majorly needed level of strategy. Currently the t1 transport is so puny and useless with insane micro and not effective. Getting a Tele up is not hard at all. Plus you normally don't put the Tele in the enemies base but halfway from his and your base and is the much more effective way to attack...The current transport is useless with how cheap and easy it is to put up fighters all over a map..honestly just copy the sup com fa method of transports...this is sorely needed Uber/modders...most likely modders, is anyone?

what like area commands to load and unload a group of transports with a single action.
    oh wait that's already in.

a gaint drop pod with the atlas attack effect on landing, then either a small army inside or it deployed a teleporter.
but with the Helios orbital teleporter, is it really needed gameplay wise.

All are true but to have a droppod invasion requires plenty of unit cannons. If you could make the droppod (wich costs more resources per unit compared to unit cannon where the droppod is free). you could transport larger armies in 1 time. With teleporters and ultimatly helios teleporting is now the only real way to invade a planet it would be nice if there where more options to it. And as long as the transporter would remain on the planet it woul be like a t1 transporter.
this droppod should not be more armorered then the drop pod from the unit cannon.
And the astreaus is to expensive to make + it is being build in orbital launcher this one is better build in a t2 air factory.
The astreaus is alswo way to slow when landing it's units a droppod reaches the surface almost at double speed compared to a drop pod.
A few umbrella's should also be able to take out a medium sized army.

A T2 upgrade of the pelican with light air fire capability and capacity of 10-20 land units would be awesome, I think.

The problem with making an armored transport is that air HP pools in PA are a ******* mess.

If you don't make the HP pool ridiculously huge, t1 fighters will melt everything in the air (have you seen Zeus vs non-stacked t1 fighters? 10000 HP and it melts). With how easy they are to mass up, you'd rather try luck sending a builder to try and build a teleport.

But, if you do end up making the HP pool huge, it will basically be immune to ground AA. Galata turrets, flak, spinners, etc. all have either aoe or good precision, they all have kind of low damage.

This is true, however it would be the meaning to be able to drop units in an enemy's base so they should not last that long against any form of anti air wether it be fighters or ground anti air. But now they are being made to slow due to roll-off time and one unit can only carry one unit. If an air transport could hold more they would be made more.

Also if u have t2 transports for making them convertd to drop pods they would be valuable to transport to other worlds. The only effective transport you have now are telporters. and t2 transporters would be faster landers compared to orbital transport but are destroyed in the process. (and they also should be able to carry at least 4 units).

p.s. what also could be an idea for the t1 air transport is to mold it with the t1 air scout.
Then people would build more scouts that have the transport ability as well.
