    Hey there, so this thread as kinda gotten to be a bit of a mess, sure it's only 3 pages long but there is a lot of different things going on and the longer I put this off the more work it's going to be to fix it so might as well dive in!

    Easiest way to check my designs out is to check out my Shapeways Shop;

    While I wait for my Torrents to arrive, I'm messing around with something similar, add ons for Gundam Scale Model kits, of which I have quite a few, and so I wanted to start with something a bit on the bigger end of things, a nice big 2-handed cannon. Bascially Picture Arnold from Terminator 2, but instead of Arnold it's a giant Robot, and instead of a minigun it's a plus sized howitzer.

    Have you run this by a printer/molder yet? Looks really good, but I can see some potential weak spots that will be break risks. At least if you went metal.. Resin or vinyl, you're probably fine. :)

    Seriously, looks great, Mike.

    I'm using shapeways right now, they use big fancy industry grade SLS type 3D Printers and I'm focusing on the plastic material and so far it seems to be going well, I put in an order about a week ago and they seem to still be in the production/printing process and if anything turns out obviously wrong they should get in touch with me, I followed all the specs for the materials and the sprue it self is 1.5mm in diameter where they suggest 1.2mm, no walls thinner than .7mm ect ect so it should be fine, fingers crossed thought! xD

    If all this goes well It will probably mean the Basilisk will gets a Similar treatment at some point! xD

    Yeah me too, but between production times/shipping I might not be getting mine until the end of the month! xD it's amazing how much going from the US to Canada adds to the time/shipping cost! xD

    Ah well, I can work on more stuff in the meantime at least.

    Not really, my painting is pretty basic even at the best of times, I've always been more drive by the design/construction elements of model kits which probably why I latched onto Gundam Model kits ina rather large way! xD Especially in the last couple of years the Engineering that goes into the kits has gotten really advanced!

    My Torrent Prints have Finally Shipped!

    Still another 2-8 days for the shipping maybe, probably longer because that's life and all but we're one step closer!

    I wasn't contacted about the print failing so hopefully everything turns out well, of course just because nothing obviously failed doesn't mean everything went perfect but it's promising!

    No time right now to give my initial impressions, hopefully over the weekend I'll have some time to really sit down with it.

    Just gonna jump in quickly with some initial impressions.

    Overall things went mostly good, I certainly didn't expect it to be perfect of course but fir a first attempt and considering hoe much I "Pushed the envelope" as it were things turns out pretty good.

    Overall for the future, I think I'll need to do things larger in terms of overall scale and/or have fewer parts where possible, at this scale or smaller I think the design would have benefited from being designed as a single part figure rather than a kit and I am considering redoing the mesh as such and possibly putting out a larger and "simpler" version that would carry on the "model kit" mentality.

    I'll be back sometime this weekend with my full impressions and more/better pictures.

    Mike
