[REL] Transparent Strategic Icons V4.1 (Galactic War)

    Hi there,

    this mod simply changes the existing uniticons by size, transparency and white/black/yellow outlines to make them more readable ..

    so if you ever wondered where the f*** are my engeniers/nukelauncher/etc. ...

    Version 4.0 (Galactic War)
    - new icon shader for different colors
    -> big thx @xedi for this and his patience telling me what I´m doing there :D
    - the new colorcode is:
    yellow/green = fabrication,
    white = intel and orbital,
    black = all surface units
    - new uniticons (all are redone and some new)
    - few changes to scaling
    - reworked T2 Symbols

    Version 3.3 (GAMMA)
    - bomb bots
    - pelican
    - land mines
    - reworked orbital
    - and a lot of changes to existing icons to force more contrast
    - adjustments to iconscaling
    - and many many more ..

    Version 3.2 (GAMMA)
    - "size matters" - all icons resized and much smaller now
    - T2 defences updated
    - many tweaks to existing units .. especially naval

    Version 3.1
    - update for all fabbers and factories to have more contrast with light colours
    - added the correct metalspot icon
    - redone shadowoutlines for various units

    Version 3
    - tweaked trancparency of all icons some more
    - all icons have black "shadow" outlines
    - resized many icons and made them smaller
    - Important structures and all construction units keep their white outline
    - all less important structures and all combat units have a black/grey outline now
    - .. many more .. but my eyes are bleeding ..

    Version 2
    - tweaked the trancparency some more so u can more easily differ between friend and foe
    - edited all orbital units
    - edited all aircraft icons esp. bombers and fighters
    - changed orbitallauncher icon
    - added a new nuke symbol so even zaphodx would recognize it ;-)
    - edited all static defenses and radar (they now have a "base" at the bottom of their icons)

    Version 1
    - this "mod" changes the appearance of the standard uniticons form solid colours to more transparent ones.
    - engeniers / commander / orbital and important groundstructures keep their solid colours
    - all T2 units and buildings have a solid outline and transparent teamcolours to set them apart from T1

    ... I made this for myself but perhaps someone else likes it too ..

    Note: due to the fact that I now use a modified iconshader, other mods with altered shaders will probably cause strange effects

    i'd like to try it but don't like to fiddle inside the games folder
    is there a pamm compatible version?

    I didn't test all teamcolours yet .. maybe red and pink look too similar? .. version 1.0 :D

    Yeah just use the zip file and modify your icons until you are satisfied.
    And then send them to me or upload to pamm github.

    tried it .. looks okay (is there an easy way to choose a different colour for the AI?!) ..
    would be great if you upload ..

    I'm going to use this mod constantly.

    It would be great if we could easily edit the colors and transparency of icons.

    There's something for me it would be very useful.
    If the same icons appear on the buildings of enemy players and remained there on ghost structures (after leaving the scouts).

    If you do something like that, I put a large beer: D

    editing the transparency of the icons is quite easy .. but adding too much makes them very hard to differ from other colours .. my first try was completly transparent with white outlines hoping for the colours of the units to show up - now I used a kind of colour gradiant, otherwise you would have a hard time identify friend and foe :p

    and yeah .. your idea maybe would add to the game .. but thats not in my hands .. sry

    Anyway, I just tried your mod in the game and say that this small change makes a huge difference. Comfort the game is incomparable.

    Yeah forgot to change date in modinfo.json for version 2.0
    So you don't get an update notification in pamm so just click reinstall.

    Hello, would it be possible to make visible, when a building is under construction when zoomed out and only see the icon? Often i zoom in just because, i dont know if something is ready.
    maybe this would be a good thing in a seperate mod?
