    Re: Planet size comparison

that is rather impossible. For a amount of mass in the universe to become a star it needs a critical mass to "ignite". This would mean, before a planet is bigger than a star, it would become a star itself. Systems with two suns orbiting each other are known though.

Brown stars are the bodies in between. They just have not enough mass to become a real star, but have too much mass to stay a cold planet.

I can't compete on radius, but I can on height range!

    Height Range = 1000

    Height Range = 1500

...wow. How do those play? Can units navigate on them?

There was once a plane flying into the mountains. It never came back.

One says that it still bugs at a corner..but..who knows?

On the insane height range I can say only this: FTL. And no, that doesn't mean Faster Than Light but Forget The Logic.

BTW I don't see anything in laws of physics why a massive planet couldn't have a tiny brown dwarf star orbiting it. It would occur only by the planet's SOI (Sphere Of Influence) catching such a small wandering star which would have been kicked off from its system. Or should the planet be a plenimo (wandering planet without a parent star) which would get a small star into its SOI.

    You people are crazy.

But I have to say, that 300+ radius planet looks awesome.

Anyone on this forum have access to a supercomputer? I'm curious as to how far we can take this.

Because you just can't have a planet with a greater mass than a brown dwarf. A planet with the mass of a brown dwarf *becomes* a brown dwarf. A tiny brown dwarf is just a gas giant.

I look forward to playing a multiplayer game on those giant worlds.

You asked for size 500, here you go:

Although the sun is getting in the way...

Yes, that's the sun being in the planet itself.

how long did it take, I left mine runing for nearly 5 hours...

ah but you have resources and height range on zero.
