have you tried to set file permissions to something less restrictive on all involved files?

I've given full control to the users group and it still crashes. Also, shouldn't that not be an issue with it running at admin level?

As I suspect it's relying on Internet Explorer's Internet Options, I'd recommend loading Internet Options, switching to the Advanced tab and clicking the Reset button at the bottom of the page. Once the reset is complete, try reloading this program.

Still doesn't work. :( Thanks for trying though.

    Version 1.8 released!
    • Mod Manager window is now resizeable
    • Mod downloads are now tracked and total download count is visible on the Available mods page
    • Added sort by downloads
    • Added "Not installed" filter
    • Fixed a bug that occurred when refreshing after deleting all mods on the filesystem while PAMM is opened

I could again resolve this issue with hitting the "Allow" button on the first page of the properties of PAMM.exe.

@raevn are you planing on a version which could update itself, implemented as a "Update Now"-Button or alike?

I had tried that back when you suggested it in version 1.6, but haven't tried it since because it did nothing then. Now I tried it and it works! I guess the cause of my error changed in one of the updates since then. Thanks for suggesting it again. @raevn you might want to add that to your instructions.

Also, now that it works I can see the full extent of your updates raevn. Awesome job! It both looks and works great!

Yes! Check out the features wishlist in the first post. :)

    Good idea, done.

Edit: I'm so glad you managed to find the solution - I was doing some research on the error and starting to think it was a security limitation regarding cross-domain http requests

I just used the update mod behaviour to grab the new player chat colours. Beyond awesome :)

Is there a way to get it to remember its previous window size?

Wow, just checking the forums after about a month of not being able to play PA; this mod has come along nicely! Can't wait to try it again, I've been missing my PC! This laptop can't handle the game :(

I think I have the same issue. I think I found the "allow" button? I marked the "full controll". Is that what you ment? See attached file. I would be very happy if you could give me a hint.

The button that did it for me is this one:

    Hi Raevn,

I've been getting this error every time i run the .hta. Im using the steam version of PA and have the manager and .hta file in basically every folder of the directory to cover the possibility of me being in the wrong place.

I keep getting this error regardless (attached jpg), anyone have an idea how to fix it?

@snierke, can you provide the exact error message you are receiving?

It looks like you have PAMM.hta in the right place, so check that there is a ini.vbs file is inside of the manager folder.

The steam folder should look like the following (may be slightly different as I'm not using steam, but it should be basically the same):
    SteamPAMM.PNG

Current Progress: Working on an installer for PAMM, once that's done I'll make PAMM check for updates and be updated from within itself. It's very annoying that PA doesn't seem to set any registry entries when it's installed.

That will probably be fixed when mods are moved to documents and settings
