Internal Playtest - Stability Check - 2014-02-17

    This was a stability check, no new features were called out. Though we didn't see it, two players and an AI got off planet, and we can presume that the players used Astraeus since it was an issue last time. There was one bit at the end where ships were firing over a submerged commander. Personally I don't see that as being a showstopper unless they determine that an underwater commander is invulerable.

    EDIT: There was also one point where an Umbrella appeared to not be firing automatically.

    The question is are the air and umbrella bugs going ot be fixed before release or after.

    This has been a bug for a VERY long time. With the DSR sometimes they still will not fire. You could see it clearly depicted here

    Yes, with ground unit formations. But a reduced AoE would be welcomed :)

    Meta want for t2 air rush and actually had quite some difficulty dealing even with T1 air. Yes tt2 has been nerfed and nerfed hard.

    And probably all the hitting power ;^) Brian usually sees a couple things I don't. I just happen to catch Twitch live once and while; usually it's the very end and I have to watch the video.

    Ships firing over submerged commanders: not new.
    Umbrella problem: not new.

    Small things I could notice:

    • Commander moves slower this time
    • New icon and model for combat fabbers
    • Transport flyer
    • New icon and model for Advanced Bot Factory (it looks similiar to T1, but bigger)
    • Adv air Factory STILL costs 3300 metal, which is very cheap for a T2 structure
    • Ground cracks have been optimized, they look more deep
    • High ground and low ground optimized, they can be clearly spotted and distinguished
    • Walls are 25 metal now
    • New icon and model for gunships (name is Kestrel)
    • New icon and model for flak cannons, and they look wicked sick!
    • Missile towers now only hit air
    • Visual effect has been added to the power generators (you see a light when they are working)
    • New command on the bar, PING (yellow target)
    • New icon and model for Anchor, and it actually moves rather than sit and spin
    • New bot unit Doom (not sure if this is the name), it looks like a spider

    also, it was possible to see small changes in design of the factories with some lights and stuff
    I think it was really cool
    I enjoyed the visual effect of power generators, it makes the game feel more alive

    TBH this is what made T2 air rish OP. You need 7 t1 mex and 10 t1 energy plants and you can get t2 air out at about 5 minute mark.

    After the game, I explored the umbrella problem in the sandbox environment and we think we understand how to fix it, so it shouldn't be long now.

    'Shouldn't be long' stay up until 2am, or 'shouldn't be long' get up at 5am, that is the question. Need to find a coin I think ;)
