Because I'm sick of creating 500 threads per week, let's use this one thread to talk about games. Like that movie thread.

I just found out about this thing:

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/264710/

According to the actual useful reviews seem to indicate that currently it doesn't have much depth (ironically enough). Seems worth keeping an eye on though.

seriously this is my favorite game of all time.

but only when I have 5 friends over and playing FFA.

you can't play it in lan of wan, it's local only.

it plays best with a remote and only accepts one keyboard anyways.

all that and still, it's the best game of all time.

second best game of all time.

    why?

    1. you're instantly a pro at it with mad parkour parying in-flight sword-catching l33t skillz
    2. it's rediculously fun
    3. you see yourself transformed into mid-late 18th century fencing version of yourself by the words and sounds that are comming out of your mouth for some reason?
    4. ......need I say more?

This is a pretty cool little thing spawned out of a student project:

You are a brave (non-human) astronaut and your job is to take the Not-Lunar-Lander and fly around your tiny little solar system full of tiny little planets and explore them. PS you only have 20 minutes before the sun goes supernova. If you die for whatever reason you get Edge of Tomorrow'd back to the beginning with full memory of everything you did before you died. The goal is pretty much to uncover the mystery of your little corner of the universe.

I'm not actually sure if the game is finished enough to allow you to do so but it's free so eh.

CRPG : the equivalent to FAF in the medival realistic combat category

and hopefully it's successor Melees Battlegrounds, whose developpers haven't given up after a failed kickstarter attempt and are going to do another kickstarter :

something to note for future reference : I always jump on the free2play is pay2win bandwagon.

as a matter of fact as a rationalist I believe it's a mathematical necessity that one implies the other

say it is free2play without mentioning anything else and I'll pretend I didn't see it,

say it's free2play but not pay2win and you've successfully obtained my undivided attention ^^

Most free games I play aren't pay to win. They're usually "donate to not be an ***" or "we sell physical merch" or "just plain free".

Speaking of fantastic free games, Caves of Qud is apparently coming to steam soon. I don't twit so I haven't been able to nab a steam beta key, but I'm really looking forward to the update. It'll also get a tile set for people who care about those.

But there are free to play games that are definitely not pay to win?

Warframe can't really be pay to win as it's a coop game.

Not exactly, because my boyfriend plays Warframe all the time with his cousin and stuff without paying AT ALL and wins quite a bit. Pay to win obviously implies you must pay to win.

But alrighty, we won't continue this, here anyway.

Though I must say I'll probably continue to jsut make threads of their own for each new game... As otherwise this one will kind of just get super cluttered, and like 30 pages long.
