    Ladies and Gentlemen,

As Uber have managed to hype up their next patch to never-before-seen levels with all their livestreams and sneak previews, I think we all need a good outlet for our excitement.

Therefore, I propose to host, with assistance from others, a tournament to celebrate the first patch of 2014.

Assuming it is released this side of the weekend, I propose to host a one-night-only tournament on
Saturday 18th January, starting at 1900hrs UTC.

I have created a Google Doc for the purpose of monitoring tournament progress - it is presently set to read-only, so I'd ask that all those interested in participating in this tournament respond with their interest below and I will populate it accordingly.

    Details:

Prizes are subject to change for now - will remove this notice when they are firm
1st Prize: 70,000 DogeCoins and a $10 Google Play card voucher
    2nd Prize: 30,000 DogeCoins

    Sponsors:
    TheWrongCat: 50,000 DOGE
    Clopse: 50,000 DOGE
    evilOlive $10 Google Play card

I have initially set this up for a maximum of 16 participants, however if more than 25 people respond expressing interest in participating, I will increase to 32 slots. EDIT: There are now 32 slots! Slots will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and we will accommodate stand-ins for the first round in case of no-shows.

All matchmaking will take place in the Planetary Annihilation IRC channel, linked to in the spreadsheet.

To keep things moving smoothly, there will be an arbitrary 45-minute grace period to match up with your opponent. Extensions may be granted on an individual basis, however the final decision will lay with the 'officials' helping to run the tournament.

Details regarding map requirements and any in-game rules TBC pending judgement after patch release.

    Tournament officiators:
    TheWrongCat
    WPMarshall
    evilOlive
    MasterOfRoflness
    OathAlliance
    BrianPurkiss

    =

Please respond to this thread expressing your interest in either participating or casting / officiating so I can continue preparing everything! I'll keep this top post updated with any changes / additional info.

I wish I had won a ton bitcoins in some SupCom Vanilla tournaments a few years ago.
I could fund the development of PA with it by now.

Dogecoins can be spent in various places around the web. A good place to start would be www.reddit.com/r/dogemarket - you can also exchange them back into your local currency there if you so choose. Bank fees crippled me for the last tournament I sponsored so this is a good way around that :p

Also I think I fixed the sheet so it is now publicly viewable.

@lapsedpacifist I'll pop you on the 'reserve' list if you're unsure you'll make it, if that's okay? If you're confident you can, I'll move you up - let me know

I'm in, can also double the prize pool ( as of now :p) if it gives me easy brackets. Or if not.
