Personal: Little Liam was your typical "gentle giant" growing up, eventually reaching 6'6" and 400 lbs. Luckily for him his 400lbs was mostly muscle and he had a big enough heart to know when to use it which is what got him his job doing heavy work for the MNC arenas. It was one fateful day that his status as a gentle giant is what almost did him in when a Jackbot started to rampage during a test. Not wanting to see his friends and coworkers hurt he dived right in and not only did he manage to wrestle the Jackbot to the ground, but also tore an industrial impact hammer off a backhoe using it to smash the Jackbots head in. Unfortunately the strain of fighting a Jackbot single handedly was too much for his heart which started having palpitations. Not wanting to see such talent go to waste the organizers quickly had his DNA tweaked and sent him off to the arenas where he showed he still put his teammates first using the very impact hammer(albeit modified) he took the Jackbot down with.

Primary Weapon: RivetGun
Primary Fire: Fires heated rivets at a moderate rof
Alternate: Cocks gun loading additional rivets

Secondary Weapon: Impact Hammer
Primary Fire: Electromagnetic piston hammer. Short range
Alternate: Grapple - Extends hammer and swings it like a bat

Skills
Offensive:
Lvl 1: Base stuffs. Can cock in 1 extra rivet
Lvl 2: RivetGun/Hammer RoF increased
Lvl 3: Can cock in additional rivet(max: 3). Hammer range increased
Lvl 4: Rivet speed increased, now able to penetrate targets(loses speed per penetration, eventually unable to penetrate). Hammer RoF increased.

Defensive:
Lvl 1: Base stuffs. Jumpjets
Lvl 2: Longer Jumpjet duration.
Lvl 3: Increased health
Lvl 4: Increased speed. Increased skill regen while stationary.

Blue: Smash
Lvl 1: Hammer head is slammed into the ground(not fired). Causes shockwave that knocks opponents away
Lvl 2: Radius increased. Stun effect added
Lvl 3: Hammer is fired prior to impact. Stun effect increased
Lvl 4: Small jump is added before firing into ground. Radius increased and changed to a sphere of effect

Yellow: Shield
Lvl 1: MeatShield deploys and can rapidly fire Impact Hammer into the ground(drains skillmeter), generating shockwaves that prevent enemies and projectile fire from passing. Shield covers 90degree radius(30degrees upwards)
Lvl 2: More powerful impacts, increasing range of shield and arc to 135degrees(60degrees upwards). Slower skill drain
Lvl 3: Stun/knockback effects if enemy touches shield. Health regen increased.
Lvl 4: Skill regen if not firing. Arc increased to 180degrees(90degrees upwards)

Red: Grapple
Lvl 1: Smacks enemy with selected weapon
Lvl 2: Strikes enemy with 2 swings of selected weapon
Lvl 3: Throw added. Hammer - "backhand" strike at enemy with butt of hammer followed by a swing to enemy midsection and fires hammer on impact. RivetGun - Smacks enemy in midsection with barrel followed by a shot to the torso.
Lvl 4: Damage increased. Hammer - Same as lvl 3 but Hammer is charged prior to impact. RivetGun - Strikes enemy with barrel followed by another strike with butt of gun, enemy is then shot in torso. Can now grapple a Jackbot*

*Jackbot grapple would be Liam kicking in the back of the Jackbots knees followed by jumping on it's back and either putting a rivet in its head or smashing it with the hammer

Good background, interesting abilities. I wonder how affecting deploying to deflect incoming damage would be. The rivet gun is a nice touch, goes with his persona rather well.

Idea started out with a character whose intention is to almost literally be a shield, the ImpactHammer was idea #2 and after that I figured he needed a ranged weapon so a rivet gun came almost naturally
The "load extra rivets" was nearly the last idea I came up with for the character. Originally I was going to have it so he could heat up the rivets more(by charging it) and cause enemies to ignite but once I thought about it a bit more I liked the idea less

Bioshock didn't even come to mind when I thought of the RivetGun
Bioshock2 was actually quite fun, controls were much smoother too

I only have a console, but I seriously started saving up money for a gaming PC just because of SMNC. Because of that I started browsing the SMNC forums.

I'll admit, when I fist saw the name, I already thought "This is going to be an extremely annoying character, there's no way I'll like it.."

Then I read everything. I LOVE this. His story makes it impossible to hate him, and finally someone loves the assassin. The hammer idea is wonderful, when reading the grapples, I very easily saw a seamless rendition of how it would play out. Great description and awesome pro. I was weary of welcoming new pros but this sounds great.

The rivet guns fire rate and his speed take the "over powered" aspect off. One thing though, the hammer could be spammed, unless I read your description wrong. Is it possible that once it reaches a higher level it had a slight .5 second cool down, like when the assassin misses a grapple. Just a thought.

Actually I never really put much thought into the actual firerate of the Hammer
Actual range I've pictured as able to punch through 2 BlackJacks standing back-to-back so I'd venture an appropriate firerate would be equivalent to Bronze, maybe Silver RoF endorsed Tank Railgun
